New Western Land-Sea Corridor Sees a "Good Start" in Freight Transport in 2021

?Published:2021-05-12 ?【字体:??

In the first quarter, the freight transport on the New Western Land-Sea Corridor showed a good trend, with 1,325 rail-sea intermodal trains being operated, and 66,292 TEUs being handled, up 89.3% and 88.5% year-on-year respectively, achieving a "good start" in 2021.

Since this year, in addition to industrial materials such as kaolin, quartz sand and architectural ceramics, the shipping demands for living supplies are also high on the corridor. The goods such as cassava powder in Thailand, sticky rice in Vietnam, and pepper in India are transported to Beibu Gulf Port by sea, and then transported to inland areas in western China such as Chengdu and Chongqing through rail-sea intermodal trains. At present, the rail-sea intermodal transport sites of the corridor have covered 59 stations in 27 cities.
